Lanequest Series Week 5
Paul Trott and Rachel Slattery showed their dominance in this series by taking the best scores yet again this week. Based at Endmoor Village Hall the thirty controls were spread round the lanes of Old Hutton and farming country west of the M6. There was plenty of hill climbing but not quite so steep as the river valleys of Wenningdale at the previous weeks event.
In the juniors it looks as if no one can equal the four best scores of Charlie Hebbert but the orienteer Matthew Rooke appeared this week to take a well earned first place with an exceptional 210 points.
Next week, the last in the series is celebrated with the winners cutting the special cake made by Wilfs Cafe at Staveley. Wilfs is the start point and newcomers are welcome 5.30 -7pm.
All profits from this series go to charities and so far over £400 has been raised.
