This is a very exciting time for 24 hour mtb endurance racing in the north of England as we are sure it's a first! This event has actually been several year's in the planning but it's only now that the event is set to take place. This has of course been made possible by our main sponsor The North Face, whose enthusiasm for mtb events in this area we are very thankful for! |

The Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon (SLMM) is a two-day mountain navigation event open to teams of two. Teams navigate between checkpoints, visiting them in the order given (with the exception of solo Klets competitors). The first day finishes at a mid-way campsite. Competitors must carry the lightweight camping and safety equipment listed in the rules. Competitors need to be competent in the use of map and compass in the mountains. Many checkpoints require accurate navigation, especially in misty conditions. |

The Summer event will now be rubbing shoulders with two other events all on the same weekend as part of an event called Dirty Weekend. This makes for a mighty gathering of adventure and basecamp activity and Detail Events have worked with local partners to make this possible, and create something for everyone in a tremendous setting. The events are a new 2 Day ACE Race adventure-race format and a new Dirty Dozen trail run, all from Traquair House. |

Staveley Carnival Community Arts Project is a festival of art and colour! A fantastic fusion of community arts, music, drumming, dance, puppetry, performance and carnival. The project runs biennially (every other year!) and encompasses a two-month workshop program culminating in a weekend of carnival festivities.
All the performances over the weekend celebrate the achievements of all involved and provide an inspiring, interactive festival of community events, including the ever popular 'Wearable Arts Fashion Show'. Each year we have a theme which all the workshops use as creative inspiration. The finale of the weekend is a fuel free, Brazilian style street procession creating an awe inspiring sea of colour as it dances through the streets to the infectious rhythms of the carnival bands. |
